Monday 13-10-2025
The "Al-Infima" Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah is preparing to host the 20th match of the Saudi national football team, as they meet their Iraqi counterpart on Tuesday evening in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Green hopes to continue its dominance at the "Shining Jewel" by achieving a new victory that guarantees it direct passage to the final stage of the World Cup qualifiers, relying on its positive record in this arena since its opening in 2014.

The Saudi national team has played 19 matches at the stadium before the Iraq match, managing to achieve 12 victories, while five matches ended in draws, and they suffered only two defeats throughout that journey.

During these matches, the Green players scored 34 goals, while they conceded 14 goals, making "Al-Infima" a witness to major victory moments, the most notable being Saudi Arabia's qualification for the World Cup in the 2018 and 2022 editions.

On an individual level, striker Feras Al-Buraykan enters the upcoming match with the ambition of achieving a remarkable personal achievement, as he has scored five goals at this stadium so far, getting closer to the record held by Mohammed Al-Suhaili, who has six goals.

If Al-Buraykan succeeds in finding the net against the Iraqi team, he will equal Al-Suhaili's record and become his partner at the top of the Saudi national team's scorers at the "Shining Jewel", adding an additional historical dimension to this anticipated encounter.
