Spanish national team star Pablo Barrios spoke in a press statement after the victory over Georgia with a score of two goals to none, in the third round of the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

He began his remarks about returning to the national team after being absent: "I am very happy to be here, and even more so that I am fortunate to have the opportunity to play."

He added: "We controlled the match from the start. They played a solid defensive game, and the second goal was just a matter of time. We played wonderfully."

Regarding the presence of 4 players from Atletico Madrid in the lineup: "Playing with them has become easier. This means we are doing a great job for our club."
