Chelsea Receives a Major Blow Regarding Palmer's Injury
Chelsea FC has received a significant blow after the confirmation of the absence of its star Cole Palmer until next November, due to a thigh injury, according to 'The Athletic'.
The report clarified that Palmer, who is 23 years old, will miss several important matches, most notably the match against Nottingham Forest following the international break on October 18, in addition to encounters with Ajax in the Champions League, Sunderland in the Premier League, and Wolverhampton in the English League Cup.
The source pointed out that the player aggravated his injury during Chelsea's loss to Manchester United 2-1 on September 20, which is the same injury that kept him out of two matches in August, noting that he still needs several weeks before returning to the pitch.
For his part, the team's coach Enzo Maresca confirmed that Palmer will not need surgery, explaining that the coaching staff is handling his condition cautiously to avoid any future complications.
Maresca said: "I don't think he needs surgery; the issue is just managing the pain in the thigh, and with the intensity of the matches, it's normal for such injuries to occur."
He added: "We know we are a stronger team with Palmer, but we will find solutions in his absence, and we certainly won't be playing with ten players."
It is worth mentioning that Cole Palmer has participated in four matches this season across all competitions, during which he scored two goals, while Chelsea recently managed to secure victories over Benfica and Liverpool after partially recovering from the defeat against Brighton.
