Rodrigo: I Will Leave in This Case, and Mbappe Can Win the Ballon d'Or
Tuesday 07-10-2025
Real Madrid star Rodrigo Jos revealed in a lengthy press interview about the rumors linking him to a departure from the royal club this summer, emphasizing that he will stay with the team as long as the club wants him to continue.

Rodrigo said: "Every summer the same thing happens to me; they say I will leave and that I have offers from this club or that one. I would have been at a different club every week if I believed what is published. Of course, there are always offers; I won't lie about that. But I have always made it clear to the club that I want to continue succeeding here, more than I have already done."

He added: "It's amazing to win two Champions Leagues at my age, but now I want more European titles with this shirt. I have always said: 'As long as Madrid wants me, I will stay here.' If Madrid ever tells me: 'Rodrigo, find a club,' I will say 'Okay,' but that hasn't happened."

He emphasized: "The club has always told me that they count on me. And when I went through a problem, they were with me. People speculated because I was silent. But I knew I would go through this season with Real Madrid and that I would be focused to give my best version. That didn't bother me. I was calm, and here I am... as always. This is already my seventh season."

He continued: "Cristiano Ronaldo came to Madrid at 24 and made history here? Yes, that's the perfect age to continue growing. Sometimes we set standards that are not normal. With Real Madrid, I have already won 13 titles despite my young age. I have won every possible title. In Madrid, there is a lot of pressure, and you must always win. I love that because it makes you grow and not stop. This way, you only think about improving, but what we have achieved over all these years is not ordinary. It's Madrid. We must win again."

He concluded: "Kylian Mbappe can win the Ballon d'Or if he continues to play like this, especially with the number of goals he is scoring. Titles should matter. We must understand this criterion because sometimes it's applied, and sometimes it isn't; it's hard to talk about this award, and I don't like to talk about it much. If it's for the one who had the best season, then Ousmane Dembélé deserves the award this year."
