Exclusion of Valverde from Uruguay's Camp
Monday 06-10-2025
Marcelo Bielsa, the head coach of the Uruguay national team, has decided to give Real Madrid star Federico Valverde a rest during the current international break, as he will not participate in the friendly matches against the Dominican Republic and Uzbekistan on October 10 and 13 in Malaysia.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Marca', the decision was made in agreement between the coach and the player, given the nature of the friendly matches and the additional effort resulting from the long travel, which led Bielsa to exempt Valverde from this trip, even though the player usually wishes to participate in all of his national team's matches.

Bielsa had been in Madrid last week to give a coaching lecture, and it is believed that he took the opportunity to communicate with Valverde and assess his physical condition, especially after the strong performance he delivered against Villarreal last Saturday, where he played as a right-back.

Valverde is expected to return to lead the Uruguay national team in the next international break in November, when the team faces Mexico and the United States in two friendlies with a higher competitive nature.

This rest may give the Real Madrid player the chance to fully regain his physical fitness.
