Diego Simeone, coach of Atletico Madrid, analyzed his team's performance after the 1-1 draw against Celta Vigo in the eighth round of La Liga, pointing out the great effort of the players.

Simeone commented on the impact of the red card on the match's proceedings: "There's no point in focusing on that, as what happened cannot be changed. When we were 11 against 11, we were in control and created dangerous counter-attacks. With ten players, we defended well, but we couldn't create more chances, yet I am satisfied with the overall work of the team."

Regarding the draw and its importance, the Argentine coach added: "I always focus on the positives, and in a difficult situation like a red card, the team responded excellently. The players worked hard, and it's tough to play 60 minutes with one player less, but they delivered a remarkable performance."

Simeone also commented on the lineup changes and refereeing, stating: "The change came with the score being 1-1 to enhance the attacking performance, and I didn't comment on the refereeing because it was within the accepted standards. What surprised me the most was the great challenge away from home, but I left feeling happy and satisfied with the players' efforts."

It is worth noting that Atletico Madrid player Clement Lenglet received a red card in the 40th minute after receiving a second yellow card.
