Kivu: The match against Cremonese is difficult, and we must be ready for everything
Christian Kivu, the head coach of Inter Milan, spoke about the match against Cremonese in the sixth round of the Italian league for the 2025/2026 season, which will take place tomorrow, Saturday, pointing out the difficulty of the encounter and the importance of preparing for it with full strength.
Kivu said: "We have found balance and developed offensively, but I always start from the idea of not conceding goals. I want the team to be alert and have the desire to defend."
Regarding the absence of Turma, he clarified: "Marcos went out early against Cagliari, and I saw him with Lautaro forming a great duo against Slavia. His injury has bothered us, but it is not serious; we just have to wait for his return."
On the attacking partnership in the upcoming match, he confirmed: "Lautaro will play, as for his partner in attack, I have an idea, and I am 90% confident."
Regarding the rotation policy and changing goalkeepers, he said: "For me, the individual player does not exist. I do what I see fit for managing the group, especially when we play every three days. There is no fixed rule regarding the league goalkeeper and the cup goalkeeper; the decision is determined by my feeling at that time. I do not want selfishness to control the team, but for everyone to realize their importance."
As for announcing the starting lineup, he explained: "Some want to know it early, while others prefer to wait until before the match. So far, I have always announced the lineup three hours before the match."
He also talked about physical readiness, saying: "Fitness is very important, but I am not looking for excuses. The team has been stable since the first match against Torino and has developed with each game. It is true that there is a risk of injuries, but we are working well, and the coaching staff is united and knows when to intervene."
Regarding the competitor Cremonese, he emphasized: "A well-organized team and physically strong, and their coach knows how to exploit his players' capabilities. They have experienced elements who play with passion and humility."
About the new arrival Diouf, he said: "He is the latest addition to the team and needs time. He trains well and has developed a lot since his arrival. He has ambition, quality, and hard work, and his opportunity will come sooner or later."
Regarding the role of midfield players offensively, he added: "The most important thing is to win and play in the best possible way. It doesn't matter who scores or assists, but who makes sacrifices; there is no place for selfishness. The group is the foundation."
He concluded by talking about Boni: "The only thing he lacks is to start a match as a starter, but he will get his chance. He is a good player, and I appreciate him a lot. He has the respect of the team and is happy to play for Inter, whether he participates for two minutes or thirty."
