Anticipated Revolution in Inter Milan's Lineup

Inter Milan concluded its domestic season in the best possible way after winning the Italian League and the Italian Cup under the leadership of Cristian Chivu, but the club's management is preparing to make several changes to the lineup in preparation for the 2026/2027 season.

According to 'Football Italia', the first expected changes will be in the goalkeeper position, as Yann Sommer will leave at the end of his contract, while Josep Martinez is set to take on the role of the main goalkeeper. The club also plans to sign a new goalkeeper to be a strong backup option, with full confidence in Martinez's ability to protect the team's goal in the upcoming phase.

In the defense line, Matteo Darmian, Acerbi, and Stefan de Vrij are close to leaving as their contracts expire on June 30, prompting Inter to move to strengthen its defense. The club has several names at the top of its priorities, most notably Omar Solit from Udinese, Gianluca Mancini from Roma, along with Tarik Muharemovic.

The same source indicated that Denzel Dumfries is preparing to move to Real Madrid for 20 million euros, while Inter is working to find a suitable replacement, with Marco Balestra from Atalanta emerging as one of the most prominent options.

The club's moves are not limited to defense, as it also seeks to strengthen the midfield, with Roma's Manu Koné being the main target to bolster this position during the summer transfer window.

Despite the anticipated changes, Cristian Chivu does not intend to make radical adjustments to the team's tactical approach, as he continues to rely on a system that includes three defenders and two forwards in the front line, maintaining the attacking core consisting of Lautaro Martinez, Francesco Pio Esposito, and Marcus Thuram Yuan Boni.

Thuram's future remains under observation, especially since his contract includes a release clause of 80 million euros, but Inter's management does not intend to let him go unless this clause is fully activated.
