Frenchman Bompil is the new coach of the Angola national team

Frenchman Patrice Bompil has become the new head coach of the Angolan national team, as announced today, Monday.

Bompil will lead Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations, which will begin in Morocco on December 21, where Angola is in Group B alongside Egypt, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

Bompil has good experience in Africa, having previously coached the Ivory Coast national team, the Algerian club Mouloudia, and worked as an assistant with the national teams of Morocco and Zambia before that.

Bompil, who is 47 years old, was a player for the French club Nîmes Olympique during the 1990s.
