Amorim: I'm not worried about dismissal, it's hard to say this
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim spoke to the press after the 3-1 loss against Brentford in the sixth round of the Premier League.
The coach said: "We played in Brentford's style throughout the match, and when you see a game like this, it's hard to describe it. We didn't impose our style at any moment, and what happened was completely different from what we planned for today."
He added: "We knew they relied on long balls in transitions, and we worked on that in training, but the second goal came in the same way. We scored a goal and then missed a penalty. These crucial moments can change the course of the match, and we experienced the same thing against Fulham, and here it is repeating today."
He emphasized: "It's hard to say whether we deserved to win or not. We didn't manage to get into the atmosphere of the match, and we should have scored the penalty."
Regarding the team's struggles with set pieces: "If you watch all of Brentford's matches, you'll find that dealing with set pieces is always difficult, somewhat like a lottery. We worked on this throughout the week, but we also struggled with long balls."
About his appearance looking at the ground during the match: "If you notice all the coaches, you'll see them doing that at certain moments. It's similar to what happens in the (Big Brother) program, and it has nothing to do with the match itself. I was just looking at the ground and thinking about the match and what we need to do. This is normal if you watch coaches for 90 minutes, whether in moments of happiness or frustration."
Regarding Benjamin Sesko's first goal: "The most important part is for the team to win matches, not individual success. But of course, we need to play as a team, and at the individual level, we need to be better in order to win matches."
He concluded about his future and the possibility of dismissal: "I am always comfortable in my job, and I am never worried. This is not my decision. I will do my best every minute I am here. I never feel worried about my position; I am not that kind of person."
