Friday 19-09-2025
Roberto Amorim, the head coach of Manchester United, spoke about his team's preparations for the match against Chelsea tomorrow evening at Old Trafford as part of the English Premier League, confirming the team's full readiness and the return of some key players.

Amorim said: "Dalot is out of the lineup, and Mount and Cunha are present, while Lisandro is still out of the squad, Malacia will return to participate with the under-21 team, and we will assess his situation later."

Regarding former player Alejandro Garnacho, he added: "Garnacho is not our player; I am focused on our players, and I am very happy with the return of Mount and Cunha, as for the rest, they need to speak with the Chelsea coach."

Amorim addressed the importance of Lisandro Martinez's return, saying: "It is important for Lisandro to be close to returning; when you get such injuries, you need to heal properly, and it is normal for the player to feel bored sometimes. We miss him a lot in the team; he is always present and participating in all training sessions and matches, and his presence is very important for the team."

Amorim revealed details of his meeting with the club's owner Ratcliffe, saying: "He offered me a new contract as a sign of his support for the long-term project; this season is my first season, and it was an ordinary meeting where we discussed all the pending data about the team."

Regarding the team's need for victories, Amorim confirmed: "We are at a club that faces the greatest pressure in the world, and our goal is always to win. Our performance last year was good until the penalty area, but we need to be more precise and effective in front of the goal. Compared to last season, we are in a better position, but we must win, especially after the defeats against Arsenal and Manchester City."

He continued about the preparation for the Chelsea match: "We have analyzed the last match and prepared for different scenarios; we play well until the penalty area, and we need to be more aggressive and precise in attack while maintaining our defensive solidity. Chelsea is an organized team with many players in the penalty area, so we need to improve our performance before the confrontation."
