Mariska: Amorim is a great coach, and this is Palmer's situation
Enzo Mariska, the head coach of Chelsea, spoke about his team's upcoming match against Manchester United, led by coach Ruben Amorim, emphasizing his great respect for the Portuguese coach and praising the performance of his young player Estevao, while also commenting on the criticisms regarding the exclusion of Raheem Sterling.
Mariska said: "All I can say is that I truly appreciate Amorim. I have been watching Ruben's matches since he was at Sporting Lisbon; he is amazing."
He added: "As with all coaches, when you start a new project, you may face difficulties at the beginning, but in the end, you will overcome them, and I have no doubt about his abilities."
Regarding his young player Estevao, Mariska clarified: "Estevao is a very talented player and can be effective in all attacking positions; he is top-notch, but he is only 18 years old, so he needs some time to hone his potential."
He continued: "I believe both Estevao and Cole Palmer are capable of playing on the wings as well as in the number 10 position; I feel we are lucky to have them with us."
Concerning the team's readiness before the weekend match, Mariska pointed out: "Palmer is fine, and we have a training session where we will assess the players after returning yesterday from Munich, and then we will decide who will be ready for the match."
On the continued exclusion of Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi, Mariska said: "I have been through the experience of players before, and I know this is not an easy feeling for them; they want to train and participate in matches. The club gives them the opportunity to work the right way, and this is not limited to Chelsea only, but includes any club in the world."
