Huge Rewards from UEFA for Clubs Participating in the Champions League
French newspaper "L'Équipe" revealed that the European Football Association will allocate about €2.47 billion this season from a total of €3.3 billion to distribute to clubs participating in the Champions League 2025/2026, confirming the massive revenues generated by the strongest club competition.
This season, 36 clubs are participating, including Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Marseille, and Monaco, and the bonuses will be distributed according to three main pillars: participation bonuses 27.5%, performance bonuses 37.5%, and market and historical value bonuses 35%.
All clubs that qualify for the group stage receive a fixed bonus of €18.62 million, with additional bonuses of €2.1 million for each win, and €700,000 for each draw, while between €275,000 and €9.9 million is allocated based on the final ranking of the clubs in this stage.
Clubs qualifying through the playoffs receive a bonus of €1 million, while those qualifying directly to the Round of 16 get an additional €2 million.
The value of the prizes significantly increases in the knockout stages, where each club reaching:
the Round of 16 receives €11 million.
the quarter-finals receives €12.5 million.
the semi-finals receives €15 million.
the final receives €18.5 million.
the title winner receives an additional €6.5 million.
The competition winner also receives another €4 million for participating in the UEFA Super Cup.
In addition to match-related bonuses, UEFA distributes what is known as the value bonus, which is linked to two factors:
European value: based on the club's ranking in the UEFA classification over the last 5 years and its country's contribution to broadcasting revenues, ranging from €935,000 to €33.6 million.
Non-European value: based on the club's ranking over the last 10 years, reaching a maximum of €12.5 million, starting from €346,000.
