Haussen's Red Card Cannot Be Overturned
Monday 15-09-2025
The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" confirmed that the red card received by Real Madrid defender, Dean Haussen, during the match against Real Sociedad, cannot be overturned according to the disciplinary law adopted by the Spanish Football Federation.

Referee Jesus Gil Manzano sent Haussen off in the 32nd minute of the match, stating in his official report that the reason for the red card was the obstruction of an opposing player and preventing him from a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Real Madrid plans to file an appeal before the legal deadline set until Tuesday.

However, the newspaper pointed out that the chances of the appeal being accepted are extremely low, as the disciplinary law places significant importance on the referee's report, and visual evidence such as video is only accepted in cases of clear errors that contradict what was stated in the referee's report, which does not apply to Haussen's case.

Therefore, it is likely that the player will be punished with a one-match suspension, according to Article 121 of the disciplinary regulations, which is the minimum penalty for a direct red card, and Haussen is expected to miss Real Madrid's upcoming match against Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu.
