Valverde: Proud of the Team, Not Ready to Play 90 Minutes
Saturday 13-09-2025
Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde appeared in a press statement after the 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad in the fourth round of La Liga.

He said to the player: "I am very proud. Today I was on the bench, and seeing my teammates fight with ten players was something admirable. In the first half, we controlled the match well, then came the red card that no one wishes for, it's part of football. From my position on the bench, it seemed to me that Militao was also close to that ball, but the important thing is that the team showed great fighting spirit to come away with three points."

He added: "Real Sociedad is a team that plays very good football and has outstanding players. In the second half, they created several dangerous chances, and we also needed a bit of luck. Courtois saved us in many situations by stopping one-on-ones. Matches like these sometimes are the ones that earn you the league title."

Regarding reaching 150 wins in La Liga: "I feel a great deal of happiness and pride. It is an honor to continue defending this shirt and this emblem, and to keep representing the best club in the world. This is also part of my family."

As for his return after the international break, he concluded: "I am a bit tired from the travel; 12 hours was tough. I spoke with the coach and told him that I don't feel ready to play 90 minutes today, and he listened to me and understood the situation."
