Ahmed Hassan, a former star of Egyptian football, revealed the truth about Al-Ahly's negotiations with Jose Gomes to take over the coaching of the red team.
Hassan said on Facebook: "Source.. Al-Ahly has not officially negotiated with Gomes yet, and everything that has been circulated is incorrect."
Al-Ahly recently announced the dismissal of coach Jose Ribeiro from his position due to poor results.
The club's management appointed Emad Nassar as the interim head coach until a new coach is contracted.
