Real Madrid Boycotts the Ballon d'Or Ceremony
Reports have revealed that tensions continue between Real Madrid and the organizers of the Ballon d'Or award presented by the French magazine France Football, despite recent efforts to resolve the crisis.
Sources indicated that a French delegation from the award's organizing body traveled to Madrid to hold a meeting with the management of the royal club, in an attempt to settle the disputes, but the meeting has not yielded positive results so far.
On its part, the French newspaper "L'Équipe" stated that Real Madrid representatives are expected not to attend the Ballon d'Or ceremony, which will take place on September 22 at the Châtelet Theatre.
The royal club had boycotted the Ballon d'Or ceremony last year after Rodri won the award over Vinícius Júnior, who the white club believed deserved the award.
