Morocco Tops the List of Most Expensive Arab Teams, Surpassing Egypt and Algeria
Monday 08-09-2025
The global website "Transfermarkt," specialized in the market value of players and teams, revealed a new ranking that placed Arab teams under scrutiny, confirming the clear superiority of the Moroccan national team in terms of market value, alongside its impressive field results in recent years.

The "Atlas Lions" ranked first among Arab teams with a total value of 390.20 million euros, a significant margin ahead of other competitors. This figure is attributed to the presence of prominent stars in major European leagues, led by Achraf Hakimi (80 million euros), Brahim Diaz (40 million euros), Bilal El Khannous (28 million euros), Nayef Aguerd (18 million euros), Sofyan Amrabat (17 million euros), Nail Aynaoui (15 million euros), Abdessamad Ezzalzouli (12 million euros), and Azzedine Ounahi (10 million euros).

This momentum reflects the significant transformation that Moroccan football has undergone since the achievement of the semi-finals in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which opened the doors of professionalism for a new generation of players.

The Egyptian national team ranked second with a value of 159.60 million euros, bolstered by the significant increase in the value of Omar Marmoush, a star from Manchester City (75 million euros), followed by Mohamed Salah (50 million euros), while the value of the remaining players ranges between 1.5 and 5 million euros only, reflecting a clear gap within the group.

The Algerian team came in third with 151.80 million euros, featuring notable names such as Mohamed Amoura (32 million euros), Amine Gouiri (30 million euros), Said Benrahma (10 million euros), Ramy Bensebaini (7 million euros), and Riyad Mahrez (8 million euros). Despite this list, the transfer of some names to less competitive leagues may affect market value in the future.

The Tunisian national team ranked fourth with a value of 57.80 million euros, relying on players like Hannibal Mejbri (12 million euros), Elyes Skhiri (7.5 million euros), Montassar Talbi (6 million euros), and Aissa Laidouni (4 million euros). Meanwhile, the UAE ranked fifth with 55.40 million euros, mostly from local players, notably Ali Mabkhout (3.5 million euros).
