Wehbe: Facing Brazil Will Reveal Our Level, and We Are Not Afraid of Them
Moroccan national team coach Mohamed Wahbi confirmed before the match against Brazil at the start of the Atlas Lions' World Cup campaign that this game will be a real test to assess the team's level.
He clarified: "We wanted to establish our principles from the start of the camp, and the match against Brazil will show us where we stand. We saw against Norway that we are in good shape to start, and the goal is to improve with each game, and I will not complain about anything."
Wahbi added that the team will maintain its tactical identity without any radical changes, saying: "We have clear principles and flexible systems, and we are not fixed on a single plan. We don't always play 4-2-3-1 as some might think; you will see that tomorrow. We know what we want, and there is no need to know everything in advance. Just wait for the match."
Regarding absences, the coach clarified that all players are ready and the team has alternative solutions, adding: "All our players are ready and can play. I need an option on the left side, but we have other alternatives. We will not change our principles. We were prepared for potential absences, and the absence of Nayef Aguerd and Abde Ezzalzouli is unfortunate because they are important, but we have already found solutions and we are confident." He also spoke about the condition of some players, saying that Noussair Mazraoui is in excellent condition.
Wahbi touched on the strength of the Brazilian team and its coach Carlo Ancelotti, saying: "We know Ancelotti's quality and we have analyzed his matches well. They have important players like Guimarães and Casemiro. It is a big match, and Brazil should be respected without fear. He is a great coach, and I have read all his books, so perhaps I have a slight knowledge advantage, but it is a match of honor and our ambition remains."
