The transfer of Algerian defender Idir Mqaddem to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya club in Iraq has sparked widespread controversy in sports circles, amid conflicting news regarding the details of the deal, before the club officially confirmed its position, stating that the player has become a legal and official part of its squad.

The management of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya announced on August 26 that Mqaddem was signed on loan from JS Kabylie until the end of the current season, with an option to buy if the player succeeds with the team.

Haider Ibrahim Al-Bazzaz, the player registration official at the club, stated in a special interview: "The player has officially joined Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and has joined the camp currently taking place in Egypt, where he is considered an important reinforcement for the defense line, especially since he enjoys the trust of coach Rashid Jaber."

He added: "The contract extends until next summer with an option to buy, and JS Kabylie has shown high flexibility and facilitated the deal's procedures, as they sent his international card to the Iraqi Federation, and everything was done correctly. What is said about the existence of problems or the illegality of the transfer is unfounded."

Since August 30, Mqaddem has been participating in the team's training at the camp in Egypt and took part in the preparations of the Falcons for the new season of the Iraqi Premier League. He also attended the last friendly match against Al-Gharafa, which ended in a 0-1 loss for the team.

The coaching staff hopes that the player, who is 190 cm tall, will help solve the defensive dilemma, especially in dealing with high balls, which have been one of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's main weaknesses in recent seasons.

The signing of Idir Mqaddem comes at a time when Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya is seeking to compensate for the departure of their defender Zaid Tahseen, in addition to strengthening their backline with new players, as they have previously signed Mozambican defender Edmilson Duf, indicating the Falcons' desire to return strongly to compete for titles after a long absence from the podiums.

The Al-Jawiya fans are hoping that the Algerian defender will be a real addition and will contribute, along with the other new elements, to restoring the team to the top of local championships, with aspirations to perform better in external competitions.
