Air Force Announces End of Mohannad Abu Taha's Journey

Sunday 24-05-2026
The Air Force Club officially announced the farewell of its Jordanian player Mohannad Abu Taha after the end of his journey with the team, as he leaves the Falcons heading to his national team's camp in preparation for participation in the 2026 World Cup finals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The farewell came through a brief statement published by the club today, in which it expressed its gratitude to the player for his contributions during his time in Baghdad, wishing him success in the next phase with the Jordanian national team.

Mohannad Abu Taha joined the Air Force at the beginning of the season from Al-Karkh Club, and quickly established himself as a choice for the coach in the defense line. His participation with the Falcons extended to 31 matches in the league championship, during which he scored 4 goals and assisted 6 others, reflecting his dual role between playmaking and finishing attacks.

The season concluded with the Air Force celebrating the Iraqi Stars League title, with Abu Taha leaving the club with his first league championship outside Jordan, even though the official decision came late due to the administrative controversy that accompanied the final weeks of the competition.

Abu Taha's departure comes at a sensitive time as he prepares to join the Jordanian national team's camp, which is undergoing its final preparations before the 2026 World Cup. The player is considered one of the elements relied upon by the coach in the qualifiers, and his departure from the Iraqi league atmosphere gives him the opportunity to focus fully with the Nashama before the global event.

Although the experience did not exceed one season, Abu Taha left a positive impression on the Falcons' fans, thanks to his movements and discipline on the field. The club, in turn, closed the chapter on the experience with an official thank you message, leaving the player the opportunity to write a new chapter in his career on the international stage with his national team.
