Wednesday 03-09-2025
The Brazilian Anthony confirmed in statements to the program "El Partidazo de COPE" that he received an offer from Bayern Munich before signing with Real Betis, and the offer included a doubled salary, but he decided to stick to his word and join the Spanish team.

Anthony said: "I spoke with Bayern Munich the day before finalizing everything with Betis, I don't know if the offer was seven million net, I didn't discuss that. But when I spoke with them, I said that I had given my word to Betis, and that everything was 95% complete, and I would stick to my promise. Out of respect and affection, and knowing that I am happy here."

He added: "I feel calm about making this decision, with all due respect to Bayern Munich, one of the top three clubs in the world. But I don't know what will happen in the future."

Anthony has become an important signing for Real Betis, which is looking to strengthen its squad for the new season, while his rejection of Bayern underscores his commitment to ethical obligations over financial considerations.

Anthony joined Betis on the last day of the transfer market for 25 million euros + 50% of any future sale, while signing a contract until 2030 with the Spanish club.
