Officially.. Sevilla Announces Signing of Sanchez
The Spanish club Sevilla announced that it has reached an agreement with the Italian club Udinese to sign Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez for one season, to bolster the team's ranks with his vast experience and high scoring ability, after an exceptional career that made him one of the top strikers in the world.
Sanchez has a rich record of titles, including: La Liga title, Copa del Rey, two Italian league titles, two Coppa Italia titles, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, two FA Cup titles, and two Copa America titles with the Chile national team, with which he played 168 international matches and scored 51 goals.
Sanchez was born in Tocopilla on December 19, 1988, and began his professional career with Cobreloa in 2005, where he participated in the Copa Libertadores at a young age. In 2007, he caught the attention of Udinese, who sent him on loan to Colo-Colo in Chile, then to River Plate in Argentina, where he won the Clausura title in 2008 before officially returning to Europe.
With Udinese, he played three seasons, shining in his last one to attract the attention of Barcelona, which signed him in the summer of 2011. During three seasons in La Liga, he scored 46 goals before moving to Arsenal in 2014, where he had his best period, scoring 80 goals in 166 matches, before transferring to Manchester United in January 2018.
Injuries affected his career at Old Trafford, leading him to return to Italy in 2019 with Inter Milan, where he played for three seasons and scored 20 goals, before moving to Olympique Marseille in 2022, where he regained his form by scoring 18 goals in 44 matches. He then returned to Inter, before ending his contract and returning to Udinese last season, and now he begins a new adventure in Sevilla alongside his compatriot Gabriel Suazo.
Sanchez is the most capped player in the history of the Chile national team with 168 matches, scoring 51 goals, and participated in the World Cups of 2010 and 2014, in addition to six editions of the Copa America, winning two titles (2015 and 2016), and was a runner-up in the 2017 Confederations Cup.
