Amorim: Sometimes I Feel Like I Want to Resign, and I Won't Talk About the Departure of the Duo
Friday 29-08-2025
The Manchester United coach appeared at a press conference to talk about tomorrow's match against Burnley in the third round of the Premier League.

He spoke about the future of the duo Maino and Garnacho: "Until it becomes official, I can't say much. I want Kobe to stay; he needs to fight for his position, and we need him. This will not change. As for the other matters, I don't know how they will end. I understand that the players who are not participating right now feel frustrated, but everyone will get the same opportunity, and they must fight during training."

Regarding his comments after the Grimsby match: "I know what I say in such moments. To be honest, every time we lose a match like this in the past or future, I will be this way. Sometimes I hate my players, sometimes I love them, and sometimes I want to defend them. This is my way, and I will remain this way. At that moment, I was very frustrated and angry. I know some think I should be calmer and more consistent with the media, but that’s not me."

On his feelings about his position: "Sometimes I feel like I want to resign, and other times I want to stay here for twenty years. Sometimes I love being with the players, and sometimes I don’t. I know I need to develop myself in this aspect, and it will be difficult, but right now my focus is on the next match."

Regarding his way of speaking with the media: "I try to accept it and be who I am. This is the way that gives me passion. After losing to Grimsby, I was very frustrated, especially since I felt we prepared well and started the season steadily. We played poorly for 30 minutes against Fulham, and then came this performance against Grimsby, which disappointed me a lot. But now there’s a new match, and we will focus on it."

About his desire to resign after the loss to Grimsby in the League Cup: "After the match, I felt like I wanted to leave, but now I don’t feel that way. The difficult thing about losing is not the result itself, but the way we lost or drew. We know we can do better; sometimes our level drops in small details like covering positions or fighting for the ball. The good thing is that we have a chance in the next match to regain our level."
