Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano reported via his official account on the platform 'X' that Crystal Palace has officially entered the race to sign young French defender Jaidi Kanout, a player from Toulouse, during the current summer transfer window.

This move by Crystal Palace comes just days after Toulouse rejected an official offer from Aston Villa, which was made last week to acquire the player, without reaching an agreement between the two parties.

According to Romano, Toulouse is still holding firm on its financial demands, valuing the player at around 20 million euros, which is the amount they have consistently requested since the beginning of negotiations with interested clubs.

Jaidi Kanout is considered one of the promising names in the French defense and has attracted the attention of several clubs in the Premier League, amid expectations of increased competition for his signature in the coming weeks.
