Egyptian Football Association Mourns Mohamed El-Shenawy's Father

The Egyptian Football Association mourns Mohamed El-Shenawy, the goalkeeper of Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, following the death of his father.

Mohamed El-Shenawy's father passed away in a car accident on the Wahat Road.

The statement from the Football Association reads as follows: "Engineer Hani Abou Rida, the president of the Egyptian Football Association, along with the members of the board of directors, the executive director, the coaching staff of the national teams, and all employees extend their heartfelt condolences to Captain Mohamed El-Shenawy, the goalkeeper of the national team and Al Ahly club, on the passing of his father, may God have mercy on him. We pray that the Almighty embraces him in His vast mercy, grants him a place in His paradise, and gives his family and loved ones patience and solace. Indeed, we belong to God and to Him we shall return."

It is noteworthy that Mohamed El-Shenawy missed participation with Al Ahly in the first and second rounds of the Egyptian Premier League, with Mostafa Shobeir taking his place.
