Marseille has entered a new internal crisis just days after the start of the 2025/2026 season, as the mother and agent of French international player Adrien Rabiot revealed that the team's coach, Roberto De Zerbi, does not wish for her son to continue with the team.

This surprising decision came after a strong altercation between Rabiot and his teammate Jonathan Rowe in the locker room, which escalated into a physical confrontation before the coaching staff intervened to resolve the dispute, prompting the club to temporarily suspend the players from the first team.

Although it was believed that the suspension would be temporary, Rabiot's mother confirmed in her statements that the club management had not provided any clarifications regarding the duration of the punishment, before the club's secretary general, Benjamin Arnaud, contacted the player's lawyer to officially inform him that De Zerbi does not intend to rely on Rabiot in the future.

According to the website 'Foot Mercato', the Italian coach justified his decision by citing a lack of commitment from the player compared to last season, which Rabiot's mother strongly rejected, considering that the disagreement in the locker room is common in football and does not warrant such escalation.
