Greenwood Agrees to Move to Rome
The English forward Mason Greenwood has agreed to the idea of moving to Roma during the current summer transfer window, in a move that strengthens the Italian club's efforts to bolster their attack after qualifying for the Champions League.
The "Corriere dello Sport" newspaper reported that Roma is in constant contact with the player and his representatives and has already obtained his initial approval to move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Despite the progress in negotiations with the player, the main obstacle remains reaching an agreement with Marseille, which is demanding an amount between 50 and 55 million euros to part with the 24-year-old striker.
The report added that Roma intends to make an initial offer of 40 million euros, including bonuses, but the French club is not expected to agree to it in its current form.
Rome's interest in Greenwood comes after two remarkable seasons with Marseille, during which he scored 48 goals in 81 matches across various competitions.
