How Much Will Manchester United Benefit if Greenwood Moves to Roma?
Italian press reports indicate that Roma is seeking to sign Olympique Marseille striker Mason Greenwood during the summer transfer period, in a deal that could yield profits for his former club Manchester United.
According to reports from 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' and several Italian media outlets, Greenwood is considered the first choice to strengthen Roma's attacking line under coach Gian Piero Gasperini in the summer market.
The same sources indicated that Roma's management has already contacted the player's father, amidst positive indicators related to the experience of some players at the club, like Donyell Malen since his move to the Stadio Olimpico last January.
It is expected that Marseille will ask for an amount ranging between 50 and 60 million euros to agree to sell the 24-year-old player, who had joined the French club for 26 million euros plus a resale clause.
Reports carried by the 'Manchester Evening News' stated that Manchester United has a clause allowing them to receive up to 50% of the player's sale value in his next transfer, which means that if the deal is completed at the current value, they could receive between 25 and 30 million euros.
Conversely, Marseille may have to sell the player before June 30 to comply with financial regulations in France, which could expedite the resolution of his future in the coming period.
