Nottingham Forest has announced on its official website the signing of English midfielder James McAtee from Manchester City, on a five-year contract.
McAtee's joining comes after his impressive performance in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in June 2025, where he led the England team to victory, delivering a crucial performance and winning the Man of the Match award in the final against Germany, which ended with the Young Lions winning 3-2.
McAtee is considered one of the most promising talents in English football, having participated in 34 matches with Manchester City, scoring 7 goals, and also had two successful loan spells with Sheffield United, where he played 75 matches, scored 14 goals, and provided 8 assists.
The 2024/2025 season saw a remarkable performance from the player, during which he scored his first goals in the Premier League, achieved his first hat-trick in the FA Cup, and also scored in the UEFA Champions League.
