Simmons Prefers Move to Chelsea Despite Bayern Munich's Interest
Saturday 16-08-2025
Bayern Munich has made an official inquiry to sign RB Leipzig star Xavi Simmons before the summer transfer window closes, according to reports.

Despite the Bavarian club's interest, the 22-year-old Dutch player is fully focused on moving to Chelsea, and reports indicate that the London club first needs to offload some unwanted players to make room for new signings.

Bayern, which had been focused on signing Luis Diaz, renewed its interest in Simmons following the departure of Kingsley Coman to Al Nassr, as it seeks to compensate for the absence of the French winger.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed that Bayern Munich has made actual inquiries to acquire Simmons, but the completion of the deal seems unlikely.

In a related context, Bayern Munich is also looking to sign Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku after failing to secure him last January, and Nkunku's potential departure could pave the way for Chelsea to sign Simmons.

It is noted that Simmons scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists in the Bundesliga last season and is considered one of the top young talents in Europe, playing in various attacking positions.
