Wednesday 13-08-2025
As the whistle approaches to start the 2025-2026 football season, Al-Police Club has witnessed significant changes in its lineup, as the team bid farewell to several prominent names that were part of its successes in previous seasons, as part of a restructuring and preparation for a new phase of competition for titles.

At the forefront of the departures is the seasoned Syrian star Fadh al-Yusuf, who is considered one of the most prominent professionals to have passed through the team's history in the last decade. Al-Yusuf is 38 years old and joined Al-Police on February 28, 2021, coming from the Jordanian club Al-Wehdat, writing his name in golden letters in the club's record. During his career with the Green Lyre, he significantly contributed to winning four consecutive Iraqi league titles, in addition to winning the Iraq Cup and the Super Cup, providing high technical levels and great experience on the pitch.

Also leaving is the young defender Ahmed Zero, who is 22 years old and joined Al-Police on August 12, 2021, coming from Zakho Club. Despite his young age, Zero managed to establish himself as a reliable defensive element in the team, and was part of the system that achieved the same titles as Fadh al-Yusuf, making his departure a surprising step for the club's fans who saw him as a future defensive leader project.

As for the Tunisian midfielder Ayoub Ben Macharek, his experience with Al-Police was short but impactful. He joined from the Tunisian club Ittihad Ben Guerdane and quickly adapted to the atmosphere of the Iraqi league, becoming one of the contributors to winning the league title during his time, although his departure came swiftly before he could leave a longer-lasting mark.
