Baghdad Municipality Club Welcomes Feghouli and Prepares for Foreign Camp
The management of Baghdad Municipality Club announced the joining of Algerian international star Sofiane Feghouli to the football team, after his arrival in the capital Baghdad on Monday, in preparation for the 2025-2026 football season.
Club president Falah Al-Masoudi confirmed in a statement that the club's management is making significant efforts to provide the best conditions for professionals to achieve the best results and to present a level that befits the club's history and its large fan base.
Al-Masoudi said: "We are pleased with the arrival of player Feghouli, who immediately expressed his enthusiasm for embarking on a new professional experience in Iraq, and he looks forward to being a qualitative addition that strengthens the team's capabilities and leaves a clear mark in the Iraqi Premier League, which has become an important destination for stars from various continents in recent years."
The club president pointed out that the technical committee, in coordination with coach Issam Hamad, has devised a plan to contract with additional professionals to support the team, including Tunisian Hamdi Al-Akidi, Uzbek Bakhtiyor Qosimov, and Gambian Samata, to complete the team's lineup before the season kicks off.
Al-Masoudi added that the club will work to ensure all comforts for the professional players, starting from providing luxurious accommodation and modern transportation, to preparing all other logistical requirements during the preparatory camp that will take place in Antalya, Turkey, lasting for 13 days, and will include four friendly matches against teams from the Turkish league.
It is worth mentioning that the Antalya camp aims to enhance the team's technical and physical readiness before the start of the new season's competitions, as Baghdad Municipality hopes to compete strongly for the top positions in the Iraqi Premier League and to deliver a performance that meets the aspirations of the club and its fans.
