Manchester City Enters the Race to Sign Xavi Simons
The English club Manchester City has entered the race to sign Dutch star Xavi Simons, a player from German club Leipzig, during the ongoing summer transfer window, amid interest from several clubs in acquiring his services.
According to transfer market journalist "Sasha Tavolieri", Manchester City has begun its communications with Simons' agent to explore the possibility of signing him this summer, especially after the near transfer of Savio, the team's winger, to Tottenham.
Reports have revealed that Manchester City is trying to convince Xavi Simons not to move to Chelsea, especially since the player had reached a personal agreement with the London club, with only the agreement with Leipzig remaining to be finalized.
The German club is looking for 50 million euros to part ways with Simons, whose contract with the team extends until June 2027, after joining permanently from Paris Saint-Germain last January following a successful loan period.
It is worth noting that Xavi Simons missed a significant part of the preparation period for the new season with Leipzig, in an attempt to pressure the club's management to agree to his departure.
The 21-year-old Dutch player participated in 33 matches with Leipzig last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 8 assists, contributing to 19 goals across various competitions.
