German media reports revealed today, Sunday, Leipzig's desire to re-sign their former striker Christopher Nkunku, who is currently a player for Chelsea, during the ongoing summer transfer window.

According to the German news agency, Leipzig has shown serious interest in bringing Nkunku back to their squad, while Chelsea is looking for attacking reinforcements and has opened initial negotiations with Leipzig to sign Xavi Simons during the current transfer market.

Although negotiations between the two clubs have not yet resulted in an agreement, Leipzig's interest in acquiring Nkunku could pave the way for Chelsea to sign Simons in a potential exchange deal.

Nkunku, 27 years old, has struggled with his form since joining Chelsea two seasons ago, having participated in 62 matches across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing 5 assists.
