Reports have revealed that the Spanish club Real Madrid has started serious negotiations to renew the contract of its young striker Gonzalo Garcia, following his remarkable performance in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Garcia, who is 21 years old, caught attention during his participation in the tournament, where he topped the scoring list with 4 goals, after being recently promoted from the club's academy to the first team.

According to the reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid's management decided back in July to keep the player within the team and work on extending his contract, even though his current contract runs until 2027.

Garcia is expected to receive the number 9 jersey, which became available after star Kylian Mbappe took the number 10.
