The young Argentine Franco Mastantono faces an uncertain future within the ranks of Real Madrid, after a season that did not live up to the expectations that accompanied his joining from River Plate for more than 60 million euros.

The player's start under Xabi Alonso was not bad, as he participated on the right wing and showed promising technical glimpses, but his level gradually declined, ending with limited minutes not exceeding 1200, during which he scored 3 goals and provided only one assist.

Mastantono's role has clearly diminished recently, as he did not start in the knockout stages of the Champions League, and was absent from the starting lineup in the league since February 1st, reflecting his exclusion from the tactical plans in the crucial phase of the season.

Nevertheless, the royal club still holds confidence in the player, especially since he was of interest to Paris Saint-Germain before signing him, and he was brought in based on technical recommendations within the club. However, the current reality indicates the difficulty of him getting enough minutes next season, given the team's desire to strongly return to competing for titles.

According to the data, Real Madrid is leaning towards loaning the player next summer, with the aim of giving him the opportunity to play regularly and gain experience in European football, especially since he is still 18 years old and needs time to develop.

The idea of the loan carries some concern within the club, given previous unsuccessful experiences with young players, but the management sees it as the best option currently for the player's development.

On his part, River Plate's coach has opened the door for Mastantono's return, as Eduardo Coudet confirmed that the player is always welcome, pointing out that what he is going through is natural in the careers of young players, and that he has a place within the team if he decides to return.
