Sky Sports confirmed that English club West Ham United has entered advanced negotiations to sign Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor, a player from Botafogo, during the current summer transfer window.

The London club had previously shown interest in signing Mads Hermansen, the Leicester City goalkeeper, but negotiations stalled due to disagreements over the evaluation of the deal, prompting West Ham to turn their attention to Victor.

According to sources from the network, an agreement between West Ham and Botafogo is close, as the Brazilian club is moving to replace Victor by signing Neto, the Bournemouth goalkeeper, who has already arrived in Brazil for a medical examination.

John Victor is considered a key player for Botafogo, having kept a clean sheet in 32 matches out of 79 since joining the team, making him the club's number one goalkeeper.
