Manchester City, led by coach Pep Guardiola, is preparing for the start of the new 2025/2026 Premier League season.

The City seeks to regain its balance after a disappointing season, during which it failed to win any titles and only managed to qualify for the Champions League through a tough final round in the Premier League, alongside a surprising exit from the Club World Cup against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the Round of 16.

However, according to what was revealed by the British newspaper "The Sun", the atmosphere within Manchester City is not entirely stable before the start of the season, due to new developments in coach Pep Guardiola's personal life.

The newspaper clarified that Guardiola is still facing a crisis with his wife, Cristina Serra, from whom he has unofficially separated since the end of last year, a period that has seen a noticeable decline in the team's results, prompting some to link the personal crisis to the drop in performance.

The report added that the relationship between Guardiola and his wife has deteriorated in recent months, despite previous reports indicating attempts at understanding and reconciliation, and the Spanish newspapers Laura Fa and Lorena Vázquez confirmed that divorce is imminent, and the relationship has become less friendly and more tense.

"The Sun" revealed that Cristina has struggled to adapt to life in Manchester, returning to Spain five years ago, before officially requesting separation last December, just weeks after Guardiola signed his new contract with Manchester City.

The newspaper pointed out that there are concerns within the club about the impact of these personal disturbances on Guardiola's focus, which could negatively affect the team's start to the new season.
