Thursday 31-07-2025
In a move aimed at strengthening the ranks with field experience and local expertise, the administrative body of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Club announced the official signing of goalkeeper Mohamed Saleh, who returns to the team's lineup after a successful journey spent in several Iraqi clubs, most notably Duhok, where he shone remarkably during the past season.

Mohamed Saleh is not a stranger to the Falcons' fans; he is considered one of the names that left a clear mark in the club's history during his first term, as he previously joined Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya on July 1, 2019, coming from Al-Karkh Club. He participated with the team in numerous tournaments and succeeded in delivering good performances despite the strong competition in the goalkeeper position, and he was one of the trusted names in the coaches' list at that time.

After his first period with Al-Jawiya, Saleh decided to embark on a new experience, joining Zakho Club and then moving to Duhok, where he had his strongest launch, delivering one of his best seasons ever, playing a pivotal role in his team's achievement of two important titles, namely the Gulf Champions League for Clubs and the Iraqi Cup, making him one of the most prominent goalkeepers in Iraq during the past season.

Mohamed Saleh's contributions were not limited to the technical side only; he also showed leadership qualities both on and off the field, which made him the focus of attention for several clubs. However, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya was the most serious about regaining him, especially in light of the new management's plan to rebuild the team on a more balanced foundation between experience and ambition.

It is worth mentioning that Mohamed Saleh previously won the Iraqi Cup with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya during his previous stint with the team, which enhances his value in the locker room, as his return represents an additional element of stability in a sensitive position like goalkeeping, especially in a season where the Falcons are anticipating major local and Asian challenges.

For its part, the management of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya confirmed that Saleh's return came based on a recommendation from the technical staff, which expressed a clear desire to contract with him due to his technical abilities and extensive experience at the local level, in addition to his prior familiarity with the club's atmosphere and its fans, which makes his integration quick and smooth.
