The Dutch defender Jorell Hato, a player for Ajax Amsterdam, is close to transferring to Chelsea during the current summer transfer window, in preparation for the 2025/2026 season.

According to media reports, the 19-year-old player has reached an agreement with Chelsea's management regarding personal terms, and only the financial details between the two clubs remain to be settled.

Ajax has shown its initial approval to sell Hato, and the deal is expected to exceed £40 million, bringing the young defender closer to wearing the Blues' jersey this summer.

Hato excels in playing as a center-back as well as a left-back, and he was promoted to Ajax's first team in 2023, where he participated in 111 matches across various competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 9 assists. Internationally, he has played 6 matches with the Netherlands national team.
