Chelsea Football Club has officially announced the loan of its young goalkeeper Mike Benders to French club Strasbourg for one season.

Chelsea stated in a release on its official website that the 19-year-old Belgian goalkeeper will join Strasbourg during the 2025/2026 season, noting that they will closely monitor his development during the loan period.

Benders joined the Blues in the summer of 2024 from Belgian club Genk, and he played last season on loan at his former team, where he participated in 26 matches.

Benders also participated in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea, where the team won the title.

According to reports, Strasbourg, owned by the same group of Chelsea owners led by American businessman Todd Boehly, is a key destination for loaning young players whom the management believes have a long-term future in the club's project.
