Officially.. Riyadh signs former Real Madrid defender
The Saudi Riyadh club announced yesterday, Tuesday, its contract with Spanish defender Sergio Gonzalez, coming from the Spanish club Leganes during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Gonzalez played for several clubs, most notably Mirandes, Recreativo, and Alcorcon, before settling at Leganes for five consecutive years from 2020 until the summer of 2025.
The player developed his football skills within the Real Madrid academy and progressed through the youth and junior teams for three years but did not appear in the first team of the club.
Riyadh finished the Saudi league last season in eleventh place with 38 points.
