Candidates for the best player award in Africa 2026

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the nominees for the Best Player in Africa award for 2026, which will be held on December 7 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The list featured Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, the former Al Ahly FC player who has joined Al Riyadh at the start of the current season, and Mohamed Shehata, the midfielder from Zamalek SC, among a list of 10 of the continent's top players.
