
Officially: Roma announces the signing of Evan Ferguson on loan
The Italian club Roma announced through its official website the signing of Irish striker Evan Ferguson from English club Brighton, on loan with an option to buy.
Ferguson, born in Bettystown on October 19, 2004, is the first Irish player to join Roma in its history. He began his career with Bohemians before moving to Brighton in 2021, and then spent the second half of the 2024/2025 season on loan at West Ham United.
Ferguson has international experience with the Ireland national team, having made his debut in November 2022 and scoring four goals in 18 international matches. He has played a total of 103 matches with clubs and the national team, scoring 21 goals.
The young striker chose to wear the number 11 jersey with Roma in the new season.
