Spanish media reports have revealed that Xabi Alonso, the head coach of Real Madrid, is preparing to determine the future of young striker Gonzalo Garcia during the preparatory period in anticipation of the new season.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", Getafe is the closest club to signing Gonzalo Garcia in the current summer transfer window, as Ángel Torres, the president of Getafe, confirmed that there is an agreement to acquire the player on loan if he leaves Real Madrid.

The newspaper clarified that Garcia, who shone notably in the FIFA Club World Cup and won the top scorer award with 4 goals, is still uncertain about his next destination, amid receiving several offers, including intriguing ones from the Premier League.

Gonzalo Garcia is expected to join Real Madrid's training on August 4, to participate with the first team in the preparation period, before Xabi Alonso decides whether to keep him in the ranks of the Merengues or allow him to leave on loan.
