Saturday 19-07-2025
Duhok Club coach Sulaiman Ramadan expressed his overwhelming happiness after leading his team to achieve the Iraq Cup title for the first time in the club's history, pointing out that this championship was not a coincidence, but rather the result of long efforts and significant sacrifices from all members of the organization.

In his statements following the final, Ramadan said:

"I congratulate Duhok fans on this historic achievement; they have waited a long time for this moment, and today we dedicate a championship they have always dreamed of. I am very proud of my players; they were men on the field and displayed a high level of focus and courage."

The coach, who earned everyone's respect throughout the season, added:

"We faced a respectable team, Zakho; the match was never easy, going into extra time and penalties, but we were better mentally and psychologically, and we managed to control the game perfectly until the end."

Regarding the controversy that arose after the fifth penalty for Duhok was retaken due to video technology intervention, Ramadan said:

"These are refereeing matters; we don’t comment on them much. The important thing is that we remained calm and handled it professionally, and we succeeded in turning the pressure into a motivation for resolution."

Ramadan confirmed that the team went through a tough season filled with challenges, stating:

"We suffered a lot during the season, whether in terms of travel or match pressure, but we maintained our stability and focused on one goal: reaching the podium."

In conclusion, Ramadan sent a message to Duhok fans saying:

"You are the true fuel for this success; thank you for your support, and this championship is for you. Whether we continue next season or not, my heart will always remain with this great club."
