Ceballos Hints at Leaving Real Madrid
Dani Ceballos, Real Madrid's midfielder, hinted at the possibility of leaving the team during the current summer transfer window, amid a decline in his role with the team under coach Xabi Alonso during the Club World Cup.
Despite renewing his contract with the royal club until the summer of 2027, Ceballos confirmed in his statements that he does not close the door on a return to Real Betis, the club where he started his career.
Ceballos said: "We will talk about my future in the coming weeks, Betis was my home and will always be that way."
He added: "I hope the door is always open, I haven't spoken to them yet, we are open to all options."
Additionally, Ceballos's absence from the starting lineup during the Club World Cup, with Alonso relying on players like Aurélien Tchouaméni, Valverde, and Arda Güler, has increased the uncertainty surrounding his future with Real Madrid, despite the team's need for players with his qualities following the departure of Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić.
A return to Real Betis remains a viable option, but it requires a financial agreement between the parties, given that he is still under contract with Real Madrid and the economic difficulty of the deal for the Andalusian club.
