Inter Milan Considers Terminating Acerbi's Contract
The Italian club Inter Milan is getting ready for a new phase full of changes, amid the possibility of parting ways with their veteran defender Francesco Acerbi, following the departure of former coach Simone Inzaghi to take over at Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Italian newspaper 'Tuttosport', the Nerazzurri management is considering activating the clause to terminate Acerbi's contract for only 500,000 euros, despite his contract running until the summer of 2026.
This decision comes in light of the defender's recurring injuries at the age of 37, in addition to his declining performance recently, especially in the UEFA Champions League final where Inter lost to Paris Saint-Germain with a harsh score of 5-0.
The new coach Cristian Kivu has expressed reservations about continuing with Acerbi, noting the difficulty of relying on him given the team's tactical requirements and his advancing age.
