Al-Ittihad Signs Former Lyon Physical Trainer
In a move to enhance physical and technical readiness, the management of Saudi Al-Ittihad Club has signed French Cedric Ouras, the former physical trainer of French club Lyon, as part of a series of changes that have affected the technical and medical staff of the first football team in preparation for the new season.
According to reports, Ouras, who previously worked under coach Laurent Blanc at Lyon during the 2022-2023 season, will take on the task of physical preparation for Al-Ittihad players, benefiting from his extensive experience in implementing the latest training programs.
The enhancements are not limited to this aspect only, as they include the signing of a specialized performance analyst who relies on data science and the latest technological tools to assess both collective and individual performance.
Additionally, a medical supervisor will oversee the physical rehabilitation programs for players to reduce recurring injuries that affected the team's performance last season, along with a new technical assistant within coach Blanc's support staff to enhance the technical and administrative work within the team.
Through these steps, Al-Ittihad's management aims to elevate the quality of physical and technical preparation in line with the club's ambitions for the new season, especially after the team achieved the double of the Roshan Saudi League and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup last season.
